Business Details

Mayo Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ltd., is an entirely voluntary run Society with a 'no-kill' policy.   Acting mostly on reports from the general public we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome approximately 500 animals a year, paying for all veterinary treatment and giving each and every animal a good quality of life whilst in our care.   All animals over the age of 6 months are neutered/spayed/vaccinated/flea/worm treated.   The total cost for this would be approximately 170 euro for a male and 180 euro for a female dog.   Female cats would cost approximately 76 euro and male cats 55 euro - these costs do not include being treated for lice, mange, broken limbs etc., or feeding, cleaning materials, cat litter, heating etc. Whilst we ask for a donation of 70 euro when rehoming a dog and 30 when rehoming a cat, while this amount nowhere near covers our costs, they do go towards Mayo SPCAs vet bills, daily care, feed bills and more.   Any donation small or large is most welcome and enables us to continue to rescue and care for cruelly treated innocent creatures.
